Our Mission at Best Paw Forward Dog Grooming
At Best Paw Forward, my goal is simple: to provide every dog with a calm, one-on-one grooming experience where they feel safe, respected, and cared for. I specialize in grooming anxious, reactive, senior, and sensitive dogs, offering kennel-free appointments either at your home or by drop-off at mine. By eliminating the busy salon environment, I can focus entirely on your dog's individual needs.
My priority has never been show grooming or specialty styles like Asian Fusion. Instead, I focus on creating positive grooming experiences for dogs that may have struggled elsewhere. While I always strive to give every dog the best haircut possible, some dogs become too overwhelmed or anxious to safely achieve a perfectly polished finish. In those situations, your dog's comfort and emotional well-being will always come before cosmetic perfection.
To help create a relaxing experience, I use Happy Hoodies during blow drying to help reduce noise, incorporate calming aromatherapy, and allow dogs to take breaks on or off the grooming table whenever they need them. I do not demat severely matted coats, as the process can be painful and stressful. Instead, I choose the safest, most humane option to protect your dog's comfort.
Every grooming appointment includes nail trimming with grinding, gentle ear cleaning, paw pad trimming, and a bandana at no additional charge. These are essential parts of maintaining your dog's health and comfort and are included as part of every visit.
At Best Paw Forward, grooming is about more than appearance. It's about building trust, reducing fear, and making sure your dog leaves feeling as comfortable and confident as possible.

Who We Are
Best Paw Forward is proudly owned and operated by Andrea, with support from her husband Tyler and daughter Kylee. Tyler oversees all builds and maintenance, keeping the mobile dog grooming van safe and reliable behind the scenes. Kylee often lends a hand during appointments, helps prep crafts for Andrea and clients to finish off, and even takes on a few bath dogs of her own. Together, they’ve built a one-of-a-kind grooming salon that specializes in anxious and reactive dogs and offers a calm, compassionate environment where pups feel safe, understood, and free to thrive.
Our Beginning
Best Paw Forward was born out of necessity and built with heart. Andrea began her grooming journey at PetSmart as a bather, but after facing workplace challenges and realizing she needed a healthier environment, she decided to create her own. With a foundation in safety and anatomy -and a deep love for animals- Andrea took a leap of faith and taught herself to groom. Tyler built a shed salon on their property, and thanks to overwhelming support from the community, Best Paw Forward quickly flourished. Within three years, their success made mobile grooming a reality and bringing one-on-one, low-stress care to dogs who need it most.
The Heart of What We Do
Andrea’s lifelong love for dogs started early, volunteering with rescues, assisting with transports, and always finding ways to lend a hand to animals in need. That dedication led her to open Best Paw Forward in 2022, a grooming business built on trust, patience, and a deep respect for each dog’s emotional well-being. After witnessing the long-term effects of rushed or harmful grooming practices, Andrea committed herself to being different. She specializes in working with anxious, fearful, and reactive dogs, offering a calm, one-on-one experience where they can feel safe and supported. Her goal is simple but powerful: to make sure every dog who steps into her care is given the chance to relax, rebuild trust, and thrive.
In just a few years, her approach has earned not only the loyalty of pet parents but public recognition—Best Paw Forward was proudly voted Best of Coastal Mississippi in both 2024 and 2025.
